As a semitic
award of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to alleviate the
suffering of Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip, the
Oman charitable organization led by His Excellency Mohammed
bin Ali Alalawi Minister of Legal Affairs and chairman of
the board of directors of OCO ,have distributed food
packages on most needy and low-income Palestinian families ,
this project comes Within the tireless and tremendous
efforts of the Government of the Sultanate and their people
to stand beside and supporting the Palestinian people and
helping them to improve the living and economic conditions
and alleviating poverty .
the
project have amounted to approximately $ 800,000 US dollars
and started by the mid of June until July 2008 , through
this 5,000 food baskets were supplied and distributed on
five governorates in the Gaza Strip which are Rafah, Khan
Younis, Middle area , Gaza and the North (1000 baskets for
each Governorate ), the package contains 25 basic food items
enough to meet the needs of the family for a period of not
less than a month, worth noting that the distribution
process has been in coordination and networking with the
organizations and charities in each province to ensure
access to the most needy target groups and to achieve
transparency and fairness in distribution.
It
should also be mentioned that strenuous efforts have been
made through the Oman charitable organization through its
Executive Director Mr. Ali bin Ibrahim Alraes and
the OCO representative of the Palestinian National Authority
Mr. Wael Abu Swaireh to achieve the project and overcome
encountered difficulties and obstacles.
IDCO from its office in the Gaza Strip have sent a letter of
acknowledgement and appreciation to His Majesty Sultan
Qaboos and the Omani brotherly people through the OCO for
this usual generous, hoping to continue such efforts and
cooperation in the near future. |
